Every year, the acers in our garden blaze a spectacular announcement of autumn.

And whilst the oaks, silver birches and alders seem to gradually slip into their coloured garb, with the acer it’s as though nature wants to create its own firework display – from green to yellow to amber to red in just a few days.

This year, I decided to take a photo each day to track its progress. From summer to autumn in a week.
